Open 11 to 4 pm, M-F. 11:30  to 3 pm on Sat. We are located in downtown Portland, OR on SW 9th Street & Alder.

Many people remark about the taste of fish and chips being different in the UK, and there’s a reason for that. Ever since the first chip shop, or “chippy” opened in 1860 in London, the British have led the way with light batter, breading and delicate cuts of cod, red snapper, halibut, mahi mahi and haddock. We also cater private events; call for details.

The recipes we use at The Frying Scotsman have been handed down a generation or two in Scotland. Chef James King hails from Ayrshire, UK, on the west coast of Scotland.
